Principal's Message

Welcome to Roosevelt Middle School, home of the lions. Here at Roosevelt middle, a plethora of rigorous and interactive curriculum as well as extracurricular activities are offered: ASES, AVID, Band, Cadet, Cheer, Computer literature, Compton Toro Tutorial program, intramural sports, Medical Detectives program, MESA, Newcomer Program, Project Lead the Way, robotics, STEAM, Spanish, Student Leadership, etc.

With over 20 clubs on campus concurrent with sports, arts, and music; we encourage our students to become involved in activities to develop their skills to be collaborative, analytical, innovative, and extraordinary.

Roosevelt Middle school lions are not only MESA champions, we are excited to offer 3 additional programs through Project Lead the Way Gateway Pathways to students during this 2017/2018 school year. The PLTW Gateway program empowers students to lead their own discovery.  The hands-on program boosts classroom engagement, excitement, drives collaboration and deep comprehension.

Automation and Robotics

Students learn about the history and impact of automation and robotics as they explore mechanical systems, energy transfer, machine automation, and computer control systems.  Using the VEX Robotics platform students apply what they know to design and program traffic lights, robotic arms and more.

Energy and the Environment

Students are challenged to think big and toward the future as they explore sustainable solutions to our energy needs and investigate the impact of energy on our lives and the world.  They use what they’ve learned to design and model alternative energy sources, as well as evaluate options for reducing energy consumption.

Medical Detectives

Students play the role of real-life medical detectives as they analyze genetic testing results to diagnose disease and student DNA evidence found at a “crime scene.”  They solve medical mysteries through hands-on projects and labs, investigate how to measure and interpret vital signs, and learn how the systems of the human body work together to maintain health.

Our beautifully renovated campus includes a brand new track and field, basketball courts, soccer field, football field, auditorium, and solar panels amongst many other campus enhancement projects.

We invite Roosevelt Middle school parents to become involved and connected to the school culture. We invite our parents to join our PTA and School Site Council. We have an excellent Parent Center where parent staff and volunteers come together to make the school a better place. We would love to have you join us.

Witness our lion pride roar to success!
